Bread for the City

Today we took a trip to the place of business of one of our customers, Bread for the City. Bread for the City is an organization offering social services and food for those in need. Today we toured their facilities, including the medical center, the rooftop garden, and their social workers’ office. While there we also presented a prototype of the app we’ve been working on for them. Luckily, Hamza and I got invited to work on a project Ms. Leshell’s been keeping from us.

Bread for the City

So Today we had to present Go Green to Bread for the City. I felt it went well. We had a lot of positive feedback and a few suggestions. We were able to see the roof garden which was pretty cool. We also saw another garden that was behind the Bread for the City building.

Presentation on Robots

Yesterday, a NASA intern came to give a presentation about robots. He was explaining how people are trying to use robots for everything now. Artificial Intelligence(AI) is important. It’s what gives robots a “mind of their own.” A lot of research and work is being put into making AI better and more realistic. The intern had great advice for college. He stressed the importance of extracurricular activities. He made a good point that everyone coming out of high school will have good grades, but universities also look at your achievements outside of school when it comes to scholarships.
